ABOUT SPC POLLINI
SPC Matthew Pollini, a native of Rockland Massachusetts enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard at the age of eighteen to help those in need. A decision that surprised no one that knew him as Matthew’s life was characterized by his selfless service, kind heart, and fantastic sense of humor. SPC Pollini deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 772nd Military Police Company, where he was assigned to 3rd platoon, 1st squad bravo team as a gunner. Not only was he a reliable and loyal team member he also kept up morale with his comedic styling. Specialist Matthew Pollini lost his life during a vehicle rollover incident on January 22, 2009 while returning from mission near Forward Operating Base Delta in Al Kut, Iraq, he is missed everyday by his family and his fellow Soldiers.
The SPC Matthew Pollini Memorial Fund serves as a continuation of his life’s purpose, to help those in need. The mission of the SPC Matthew Pollini Memorial Fund is to assist victims of natural and man-made disasters, and to assist military members and first responders that have been seriously affected by occupational hazards.
